Techniques
Just as important as the
nipple flow rate is the feeding
technique.
Feed baby while upright
This can avoid milk re昀氀ux.
Keep bottle horizontal
This will avoid swallowing air and causing
gas/colic.
Let baby take breaks
An infant needs to take periodic small breaks
while feeding to allow milk to pass through
the stomach.
I’ve seen feeding improve dramatically just
by adjusting the technique slightly, even while
using the same nipple size.
